The Mid-Atlantic Simulation of the United Nations (MASUN) is the pride and joy of George Mason Model UN. Every spring, we host more than 200 high school students to discuss the pressing international policy issues of the day. Students become fully engaged representing various countries and individuals, immersing themselves in the international policy arena.

The Mid-Atlantic Simulation of the United Nations 2008 is the next George Mason Model UN-sponsored conference for high school students. Progress is well underway on ensuring we have the best conference ever this year and a brand-new executive board is excited to bring many fresh and innovative ideas to this year’s conference.
MASUN 2008, which will feature smaller committees than most high school conferences, coupled with one of the best staff-to-delegate ratios in the region, promises to be the most exciting event of the year on the local Model United Nations circuit. The focus on smaller committees will allow us to focus on more engaging topics for the weekend, with an emphasis on having constantly-evolving situations for all delegates to debate.
MASUN ‘08 is scheduled for the weekend of March 7th-8th (calendar, schedule). Announced committees include the Democratic and Republican Presidential Campaigns, the Secretary-General’s Good Offices and Alexander the Great’s War Cabinet, among others. Registration is now open, and country/committee assignments are first-come, first-serve so register quickly!
